Race Location

Just so we are all clear, the race is at Seward Park, which is located at:

5900 Lake Washington Blvd. S, Seattle, WA 98118

When you enter the park, you'll want to head to the right, to the south parking lot. That's where we'll be!

Packet Pickup

We definitely recommend that you come to Saturday packet pickup.  Why?  It guarantees that you'll have an easier race day.  We'll be at Road Runner Sports in Greenlake on Saturday, February 11th from 10am to 4pm.  The store is located at:

7020 Woodlawn Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115  (click for map)

If you can't make it to packet pickup then, we will also hold race day packet pickup from 6:30am to 7:45am.  Be sure to arrive early enough--there's always a last minute surge!

Race Day Schedule

6:30 to 7:45am: Race day packet pickup

7:55am: Get your rear in gear and get ready to run!

7:58am: Group hug and high-fives

8:00am: Half Marathon Start

8:05am: 10k start

8:10am: 5k start

Noon: Best be done running!

Gear Check

We offer free gear check, so you can leave some warm clothes at the finish line. It's very simple--you just need to be sure to bring your own gear check bag, and drop it off at the gear check area before the race. We store it in a dry, covered location.  Please note, however, that we are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Course

The course consists of loops around beautiful Seward Park, with nice views of Mount Rainier, Mercer Island, and Lake Washington.  It is on a compacted dirt/gravel path, with a wee bit of pavement.  You don't need trail running shoes.  5k runners will do one loop, 10k runners will do two loops, and half marathoners & relays will do five loops.

All runners will have one significant hill to climb on the first loop, but asides from that, the course is quite flat.

The course will be clearly marked with signs and volunteers to keep you on your merry way.

Half marathoners and relays should be sure to keep track of how many loops run.

Food

Post-race, we'll have tasty food from Mama Passarelli's Catering for all runners and volunteers.  We'll have vegetarian lentil soup, fresh bread, plus plenty of Valentine's Day themed treats.

Aid Station

There is one fantabulous aid station out on course, stocked with water, electrolyte drink mix and Clif Shot Gels.  5k runners will pass it once, 10k runners will pass it twice, and half marathoners will pass it five times.

Relays!

Each relay will receive a "baton of love" that relay members will hand off to each other upon the completion of each lap.  The designated hand-off area for relays is by the picnic shelter just before the finish line.  You can run your laps in any configuration you want--Runner one could run three laps and Runner Two could do two laps, or you could alternate back and forth.  Just as long as you get all five laps done, you're good to go.

Parking

Please refer to the attached parking map.  There is plenty of free parking in and around Seward Park.  But, we highly encourage you to carpool to conserve the number of parking spots.  Just keep in mind that the later you show up, the higher the likelihood you might need to walk a little ways to get to the race!

Switching Distances

No problem. Just let us know when you pick up your packet on Saturday or on race morning and we can switch you.  There is a $5 fee to switch, plus any applicable price differences (if you are moving up from the 5k or 10k to the Half).

Awards

We will recognize the top 3 men and women in each distance, as well as the fastest relay with some moderate laudation and recognition.  Winners will receive a jumbo-sized cupcake from Confetti Cupcake to share with your better half.  Or don't, and scarf it down secretly, unbeknownst to anyone. For age group winners (age groups are in 10 year increments), we will not be having a formal awards ceremony--instead, if you see on the results that you placed in the top three in your age group, please come to our awards booth to collect your blanket.  Don't worry, we'll still give you a high five and laudation.

Lodging

If you're coming out of town, there are plenty of lodging options. If you're looking for something super close to the race, we'd recommend AirBnB, as there are no hotels in the immediate vicnity.  If not, there are lots and lots of hotels.  Here are Trip Advisor's top 10 Seattle hotels.
